Effective waste water treatment is needed to prevent water pollution worsening. Waste water treatment can be categorized into three types, namely chemical and biological treatment. The design of supporting media for growth of biofilm in treating industrial wastewater was conducted. This media can attracted more biofilm to attach on it. The test also showed that within the HRT of 24 hours at the same organic loading rate of 0.1 kg/m3.day, the Hexafilter can remove COD up to 67.6% higher than performed by commercial media, which recorded the percentage removal of COD at 63%. Moreover, the Hexafilter also has capability to support the biofilm to remove the ammonia from the industrial wastewater with the removal up to 40%.
