Description
The present invention relates to a method for synthesizing a recombinant antigen for use in detecting or preventing melioidosis, comprising the steps of designing truncation of a polynucleotide sequence having a nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1, which encodes an antigenic hypothetical lipoprotein derived from Burkholderiapseudomallei, based on antigenic site prediction; amplifying the truncated polynucleotide sequence designed to obtain a truncated polynucleotide fragment with antigenic sites;cloning the truncated polynucleotide fragment to obtain a recombinant plasmid; and transforming the recombinant plasmid in a bacterial host to express the truncated antigenic hypothetical lipoprotein fragment, which is to be used as the recombinant antigen.
