Coronary artery disease is one of the most highly prevalent diseases in Malaysia and worldwide, For the past few years, premature atherosclerosis has been diagnosed in our hospital. Premature atherosclerosis is the diagnosis of atherosclerosis among young people below 50 yrs. The etiology of this premature atherosclerosis is currently not clear. The cellular inflammation process was reported to play an important role in this process. Currently, there are no novel diagnostic methods for the early detection of atherosclerosis. The invention of Molecular Biomarkers for Inflammatory Gene of Ath erosclerosis can be used for early detection of patients/individuals that high risk to develop cardiovascular coronary artery disease. The invention can be early screening tools for the diagnosis and prevention of atherosclerosis. The invention consists of molecular biomarker panels for inflammatory genes that are able to measure the level of the expression of the inflammatory genes using blood samples.

Highlights

The innovative features of this invention are the molecular panels using mRNA panel technology to amplify the inflammatory genes expression which is very sensitive and high accuracy. The RT-PCR technology will provide quantitative value for the gene expression levels. Most other inflammatory biomarkers use ELISA assay techniques which are less sensitive. The invention supports SDG 3 Good Health and Wellbeing that will be used to improve quality of life - the early screening and detection of atherosclerosis will benefit patients and improve survival and cost of treatment.
