The present invention discloses a bolt carrier for a sniper rifle that comprises a cylindrical main body and a forward assist member. The cylindrical main body comprises a first cylindrical portion and a second cylindrical portion connected to each other by a cylindrical neck. The first cylindrical portion comprises a head portion having formed with external trapezoidal teeth for engagement with an internal gear of a casing assembly of the sniper rifle and an ammunition loaded from a magazine of the sniper rifle. The second cylindrical portion comprises a charging knob configured for rotatably driving the cylindrical main body to move in a linear direction. The forward assist member comprises biasing means to support the linear movement of the cylindrical main body as driven by the charging knob. The forward assist member facilitates loading, unloading and firing of the ammunition to a rifle barrel.
