The TRL system emits a yellow green/lime yellow colour light, distinguishing its appearance from the existing amber coloured 4-way hazard lights system. The system is separated from the existing 4-way hazard lights system but inter-dependent. TRL system will shut down upon activation of the hazard lights system and will allow only one warning system to be activated at one time. TRL system will be able to be activated only whenever the hazard lights system is deactivated. When a vehicle activates the TRL, it indicates that the vehicle is moving. Thus drivers behind are able to differentiate between a stationary and a moving vehicle. This would prevent drivers from turning ‘ON’ the hazard lights while driving.
