Description
The present invention relates to an oligonucleotide set for detecting and/or quantifying human metapneumovirus (hMPV) in a sample, characterised in that the oligonucleotide set comprises nucleotide sequence selected from SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3, a complementary nucleotide sequence thereof, or any combination thereof, wherein the sequences are targeting a matrix (M2) genetic region of the hMPV. The invention also provides a method for detecting and/or quantifying human metapneumovirus (hMPV) in a sample using the oligonucleotide set, and a detection kit comprises the oligonucleotide set for detecting and/or quantifying human metapneumovirus (hMPV) in a sample.
