Purpose of the invention or innovation: The Coffee Pulp Yoghurt drink is intended to provide an all-natural solution to the obesity and hypercholesterolemia conditions. The drink is produced from Liberia coffee peel/husk (waste product) and natural components, which not only helps to reduce body weight but also prevents the development of hypercholesterolemia. How it works and/or its functionality: Coffee peel's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties aid in the healing of inflammation in the body. Caffeine in coffee peel is also a natural vasodilator, which means it can assist to boost blood flow and circulation in the body and prevent hypercholesterolemia from developing. Combining coffee peel with yoghurt increased the beneficial effect of coffee peel because it is considered a probiotic carrier food, as consuming yoghurt would deliver significant amounts of probiotic bacteria into the body, which would help in enhancing the immune system, lowering cholesterol, assisting in vitamin synthesis, and improving digestive health. Its inventive or innovative features: The Coffee Pulp Yoghurt drink is an all-natural solution to anti-obesity and hypercholesterolemia conditions, which sets it apart from other yogurt drink in the market. It is made of a unique blend of coffee pulp (waste product) and natural ingredients that provide anti-obesity & reducing hypercholesterolemia. The intended users: The Coffee Pulp Yoghurt drink is suitable for all ages (except baby) and can be consumed by both men and women. Its marketability and potential for commercialization : Coffee Pulp Yoghurt drink is focused on direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales through online platforms or ready in market. The cost of production is low, and the potential for commercialization is high, given the increasing demand for yogurt drink products. The approximate cost of production: The cost of production for the Coffee Pulp Yoghurt drink is estimated to be around RM8 (500ml) per unit. Impact on the environment/ SDG: The Coffee Pulp Yoghurt drink is an eco-friendly product that uses natural ingredients, which reduces its impact on the environment. It aligns with SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production and SD3 Health and wellness. Technology Readiness Level (TRL): TRL7 System prototype at pre-commercialization level.The Coffee Pulp Yoghurt drink has been developed, tested in animal model and it show effective, and is ready for commercialization.
