Description
The usage of conventional torque coupler using planetary gear set causes the engine operating points cannot be acheived to optimum speed and torque region due to complexity of mechanical interaction between engine and the PMSM motor. To overcome this problem, an Electronic Wedge Torque Coupler (EWTC) is developed in order to ensure the efficiency of the torque distribution to acheive higher than conventional mechanism where the torque from the IC engine and PMSM motor can be delivered in any condition. Furthermore, the complexity in the configuration and control of the conventional mechanism can be avoided using the proposed mechanism.
