Description

The healthcare system in Malaysia is grappling with significant challenges, one of which is limited access to healthcare affects a substantial portion of the population, particularly those in rural or remote areas, where approximately 30% face barriers to receiving timely medical attention. In some occurrences, patients need to visit a few places in the hospital just to get simple consultations. We also would like to highlight the problem of healthcare information and medical records are often scattered across various healthcare providers, leading to difficulties in obtaining a comprehensive view of a patient's medical history. This fragmentation can result in miscommunication, duplication of tests, and compromised patient safety. To address these critical issues, SHARIN is built as an e-healthcare virtual world. This groundbreaking platform leverages advanced technology to bridge gaps in access and healthcare delivery. Through telemedicine, remote consultations become accessible to all, mitigating the challenges of distance and enhancing healthcare access. The platform streamlines appointment scheduling, significantly reducing waiting times and optimizing healthcare efficiency. Centralizing medical records across providers fosters seamless information exchange, reducing errors and improving patient safety. Additionally, the virtual e-hospital platform offers specialized healthcare services, enabling patients to access rare disease management and specialized surgeries without the need for arduous travel. Empowering individuals with health education resources and tools further promotes preventive care and health awareness.

Highlights

SHARIN is an online immersive gamified virtual digital platform where healthcare providers and patients can connect and transact in a secure and virtual environment. The platform's architecture consists of two primary components, the virtual environment, and the blockchain network. The virtual environment is built using 3D graphics, which provides users with a realistic experience. The blockchain network is responsible for managing user accounts and transactions. It is built on distributed ledger technology, providing secure and transparent transactions. SHARIN can collect and analyse customer data, providing valuable insights into patients' behaviour and preferences, which can help to identify opportunities for more precise services, product development, and marketing. On top of that, SHARIN can also provide real-time analytics on patient's demand, preferences, sales, and inventory levels, assisting sellers in optimising their supply chain management and inventory planning. Healthcare providers, insurance companies, and any health-related entity can also easily organise and store patient's data/information in our Patient Smart Information Hub. All the patients' case sheets or medical histories will be stored in our secured cloud storage. Based on our survey, the customer in the virtual platform still feels that interaction and communication are essential. They also mention that having a human and fast interaction/feedback is very important. The platform includes social features allowing users to connect and interact with others. Users can chat, exchange messages and even go on a live video call with other users. VR Chat: Users can connect and engage with doctors, nurses, the reception/registration counter, and the sellers in the pharmacy for efficient and engaging communication when purchasing a product or receiving information or consultation.
