Description
The present invention relates to a method for detecting Plasmodium vivax in a specimen, characterised by the steps of: amplifying a region of the Plasmodium vivax DNA by using a primer set comprising nucleotide sequences selected from a group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 4, SEQ ID NO: 5, and SEQ ID NO: 6; and detecting the amplified product; wherein the presence of amplified product indicates the presence of Plasmodium vivax in the specimen.
