The present invention relates to a brazed diamond tool comprising a plurality of layers, characterized by: a plurality of diamond particles coated with a transition metal; at least two porous metal foam layers sandwiching the plurality of diamond particles; a filler alloy layered on the porous metal foam layer; a metal substrate layered on the filler alloy; and said plurality of layers being heated under vacuum to form the brazed diamond tool. Disclosed herein also is a method of producing said brazed diamond tool.
