The present invention disclosed a method to rapidly extract out the medium-chainlength-polyhydroxyalkanoates (mcl-PHA) from bacteria biomass using ultrasound irradiation in mixture of solvent and marginal non-solvent of acetone and n-heptane. The use of ultrasound irradiation has enhanced the mass transfer of PHA extraction in mixture of solvent and marginal non-solvent.
