The present invention discloses a live attenuated vaccine and a process for producing or producing the said live attenuated vaccine. The live attenuated vaccine is an Enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) live attenuated vaccine produced by codon deoptimization (CD) and codon-pair deoptimization (CPD) of EV-A71 viruses. In one specify embodiment, the EV-A71 live attenuated vaccine comprising CD chimera and CPD chimera of EV-A71viruses and the CD chimera and CPD chimera of EV-A71 viruses comprising synonymous mutations at the VP2, VP3, VP1 and 2A gene regions.
