The innovation involves the installation of Sarawak Acetes Retention Device (SARD) in the net, right before the cod end. The SARD was designed with a specific mesh size to allow fishes to escaped through it, while Acetes will be trapped at the cod end at the same time. The objectives of this invention are to segregate the Acetes from other unnecessary fishes such as the juvenile fishes and to facilitate fishermen by reducing the time for the segregation process.
