The technology relates to development of agrofibre polymer composites based on natural fibre and thermoplastic. Specifically it relates to the use of wood fibres.e.g. rubberwood, kenaf fibre, oil palm fibre and thermoplastic polymer e.g.polypropylene, polyethylene as main components. Other ingredients such as stabilizers, coupling agents and antioxidants are added to assist in the processing of the composites. Processing techniques such as compounding, compression moulding, extrusion and injection moulding are used. The technology also relates to the development of agrofibre polymer composites into products for the automotive industry (non-load bearing parts such as parcel tray, door trim) and building and construction industry (outdoor decking, profiles and roofings).
