Description
Disclosed is an organo-mineral fertilizer and method to manufacture thereof. The method includes steps of treating liquid palm oil mill effluent (POME) and will produce the organo-mineral fertilizer by using a shaking or a spray mechanism. Granular urea is the most widely used nitrogen (N) fertilizer in the world agriculture because of its high N content, cheap and easy to be applied to the soil. There are many methods and prior arts exist which disclose to produce lime fertilizer or lime pulp which includes organic substances. These methods utilize treatment of palm oil mill effluent (POME) in a way to convert into fertilizer. The existing methods utilize grinding blast furnace slag together with the waste plastic, and tetrachloroethylene organic solvent which is classified as toxic materials, while do not utilize any liming sources. The presence of Mg could increase the solidity hazard of irrigation water beside directly affecting the deterioration of soil structure. The existing methods are also high in cost. There is a need for an efficient, and economical method to manufacture organo-mineral liming granular from palm oil mill effluent and chemical fertilizer to reduce the hazardous effect and increase productivity.
