This invention presents the fabrication of novel unidirectional kenaf fiber reinforced polypropylene composite using innovative manufacturing process involving hot pressing technique. Although, conventional processing often required several processing steps in order to maintain superior mechanical properties of kenaf fiber, our latest invention (un-treated combed technique) able to simplify it without compromised its performance suitable with todays’ modern applications focused on degradable automotive parts (ie; engine cover). Also, abilities to control kenaf fiber orientation angle (0°) and successfully developed unidirectional layer kenaf composite (tensile strength ~166 MPa) using combed and hot press technique cause the development of this innovation.
